Gender Reveal!!!

No. I'm NOT pregnant. But most of my friends are or have been recently. Seriously. I'm at THAT age. So when our friends Justin & Ashley decided to do a gender reveal party, and asked me to help design it, I was pretty excited. Ashley picked the chalkboard theme and shades of blue and pink, and I sort of went to town. Literally. I designed far more stuff than is pictured. Overboard is probably a good word to describe what I did. Below are some of the paper party goods I designed... invite, banner, wives tales, sex voting board, diaper message sign, drink signs, water balloon toss sign, silly string reveal sign, and silly string labels.

Then to reveal the gender, J & A had a circle of friends spray silly string on them in the color designating the gender. By the way, there is a LOT of silly string in each of those small cans. They were covered in string when we were done. And the gender is...

IT'S A GIRL!!!

I'm SO excited for them! And now to start making bows... And tutus...

Fleece Tie Blanket

So we've all seen these... They're super easy, no-sew blankets... I FINALLY made one with the help from Jan, my soon-to-be-mother-in-law (STBMIL). She's been cutting and sewing up a storm, making 125 Days for Girls kits (whoa!), and getting much of the flannel donated. In the mix of all the flannel, there was some soft fleece, perfect for a baby blanket. So we decided to make that knotted blanket we've all seen so much...

We followed this tutorial on wikiHow.

1. Cut your top and bottom fleece to the same size.

2. Cut a 4" square from each corner.

3. Cut strips 1" wide and 4" long all the way around your fleece pieces.

4. Tie a knot (2 times to stay securely) with a strip from each layer (top and bottom).

5. Keep tying knots all the way around the blanket.

6. Snuggle up and enjoy!

A huge thanks to Jan for providing all the materials needed for this project, as well as taking the pictures! Such cute and snuggly fun!

Bugs and Kisses

I know. I've been MIA for pretty much ever. There's been A LOT going on at the Deslattington house, so I haven't had much time for anything crafty... A much needed update will be posted soon.

Today, our friend Melody celebrates her 1st birthday! D and I are driving down to San Diego for the big celebration, and I couldn't be more excited! Remember the obsession I have with baby clothes? Well my obsession with baby birthday parties runs just as deep. It's a serious problem. Because her party is themed "Magical Forest", I decided to go with a bug on her card... I didn't have much time to figure out a way to cut or stamp a beast, so bugs were the best I could do. ;)

Hair Bows!

Two of my bridesmaids just had babies... So when I saw these cute little ribbon flowers at JoAnns the other day, I knew it was hair bow making time! Welcome to the World, Cadence Ruth and McKinley Kay! I couldn't be more excited to watch you grow! And spoil you with all things girly, of course!

Girly Giraffe

I mentioned in my last post that I have a baby card and clothes addiction... Here's why! I purchased the baby clothes below. Super cute, right?! Then I made the baby card to match. Even cuter, right?! (There are polka dotted ruffles on the butt of the onesie.)

So Miss Kindergarten thinks I should start selling these baby cards (or any others for that matter). What do you all think? Do I finally start selling my crafty creations? Etsy shop? I would love to hear your thoughts (please comment below).

Yellow Giraffe

I love baby clothes! I may actually have an addiction to baby clothes... Is it bad that I have to walk through the baby clothes section of Target EVERY time I go and squeal at EVERY cute outfit I see?

Good news! I have friends and coworkers who are pregnant, so I can fullfil my need to purchase baby clothes and make incredibly cute cards to match! YAY! Below is the latest product of my baby cards and clothes addiction...

See?!?! Who wouldn't squeal at the sight of a grey striped sleeper with a yellow polka dotted giraffe! And the card to match?!?! Why more people don't share my addiction, I am not quite sure!

Baby Onesies!

Seriously. I'm pretty sure it doesn't get any cuter than this baby onesie card! I absolutely love that I have friends having babies... That way I can buy cute outfits, make cute cards, and play with cute babies without having to do all the dirty work... Stinky diaper? Back to mommy you go!
