Classroom Cuteness

Below are my newest classroom additions...
ThINK sign encouraging my students to do just that... THINK! My inspiration came from A Middle School Survival Guide. The font came from Lettering Delights (Scrap Sister).

And in an attempt to talk less (especially because I'm pretty sure that by this point in the year students just tune out the sound of my voice), I've begun posting materials needed for class each day on the board. I laminated each material and stuck a magnet to the back. I keep a little basket on the ledge underneath my white boards so it's right there. So far, so good. Again, the font came from Lettering Delights (Scrap Sister). If you can't already tell, I'm somewhat obsessed with that font!

Eat Your Heart Out

Okay. I admit it. I tend to go a bit over board when it comes to themes. I just can't help it! For Valentine's Day, Daniel was such a trooper and let me cook for him all day (he's normally head chef).

For Breakfast: heart-shaped pancakes, heart-shaped strawberries, yogurt

For Lunch: broiled caprese salad sandwich, heart-shaped tomato

I told you I go over board! For dinner I dropped the heart theme and just went for yummy: honey-soy glazed salmon, veggies, rosemary-garlic bread. Of course, I made Daniel's favorite dessert, creme brulee. Like I said, yummy. I hope you all enjoyed Valentine's Day!

For Jammers

Lately I've been obsessed with my Awash with Flowers stamp set. I've also been loving this Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Basic Black color scheme. I decided to incorporate both into a birthday card for my cousin, Jaimee, who I call Jammers. No clue why. She's the one that went to the Dominican Republic with me back in November. So Happy Birthday, Jaimee!

And I can't figure out how to make this picture rotate... You know me and technology. Argh!

To Make: Awash with Flowers Stamp set, Sampin' Up!; Stampin' Up! colors Baja Breeze (cardstock, stamp pad), So Saffron (cardstock, stamp pad), Basic Black (cardstock, stamp pad, ribbon); scallop edge punch.

I used my Nature Walk stamp set from Stampin' Up! to create this card for Nan (Daniel's grandma). I love how simple, yet elegant they turned out!

And I LOVE the return address labels!

Inspired by Nature

This card was made for Jan (Daniel's mom... you know, the one that has given me most of my stamp sets!). I used my Inspired by Nature stamp set from Stampin' Up! to make this one.

And the return address labels...

Greeting Card Gift Sets

I hope you all had a Very Merry Christmas! Each year, I make sets of cards for the aunts and moms in my life (my aunt and mom, as well as Daniel's grandma and mom). This year I included Daniel's aunt on the list, as well. And in addition to the usual set of cards with envelopes, I created return address labels to match the cards... I'm slowly, but surely using more digital means to complete my crafts... SLOWLY! I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.

I used my Awash with Flowers stamp set to create these for my Aunt Toogie.

And here is the return address label I created to match the card set. And here is the tutorial I used to figure out how the heck to upload the label for you, compliments of my BFF, Miss Kindergarten.

Fig for Kelsey (coworker, not cousin)

Oatmeal for Danielle

Grey for Alex

Denim for Jaimee

Hand Stamped Coasters

Lucky for me, all my closest girlfriends seem to make similar steps in life around the same time... This makes gift giving easy! So for Christmas gifts this year, I hand stamped coasters to match their new/remodeled homes.

Heather just bought a new home with her hubby, Alex.

Hadar just moved into an apartment with her boyfriend, Tom.

Kimberly just got married and moved in with her hubby, Adam.

Andrea is remodeling her kitchen in her home with her hubby, Matt.

Here's the tutorial I followed... And I learned the hard way that if you use water based ink they will fade after getting wet. This poses a problem if you'd like to actually use the coasters.

Happy crafting all!

Twister Cookies

Every year I make some sort of holiday treat to share with all the wonderful people that put up with me regularly. This year, I made twister cookies! Twister cookies are a somewhat bitter Arabic cookie (I'm 1/4 Lebanese) and are probably my favorite kind of cookie. I grew up making these delicious cookies with my Great Aunt Freda in Maine. These cookies are a bit labor intensive as you have to roll the dough out for each cookie and twist... It takes a while and your back always hurts after. They are so worth it, though!

Mmmmmm....

Happy baking all!

Christmas Card

This year's Christmas Card was very appropriately made using the first Christmas gift I received from Daniel... my Season of Friendship stamp set. I absolutely love this stamp set and probably use it more than any other. It's just so versatile! So hopefully this Christmas Card finds you well this holiday season... Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

To Make:
Suplies: Season of Friendship stamp set; Real Red (cardstock and stamp pad); Chocolate Chip (cardstock and stamp pad); Kraft (cardstock); Whisper White (cardstock and stamp pad). I found that tearing the white cardstock by hand was easiest.

Awash with Flowers

I LOVE my Awash with Flowers stamp set! (Thanks again, Jan!) Below is the birthday card I most recently made with the whimsical floral stamp set. I love the versatility of using layered stamps. This one is for Avery (12) and Shastina (20). Happy Birthday, Avery and Shastina!
